    “You cannot have call reluctance. You have to have the willingness to be able to pick up that phone and to call anybody to sell them insurance. The call reluctance is something that you cannot have and a lot of times you can test out in a personality profile, for example, and check all the right boxes but that still is there for someone.”

Born to missionaries serving in Ecuador, Janessa Weiland along with her family, moved state-side when she was 5 years old. She has resided in the Sunshine State ever since and considers Fort Myers her home.

    Janessa started her insurance career in 2009 as one of the first employees of Chapman Insurance Group - now serving as the Chief Operating Officer. She is proud to be part of an organization that is committed to the community and invests in its people. She has played an integral part in building the original team of four to a current team of over 65 and establishing Chapman Insurance Group as SWFL’s premier insurance agency.

    Traveling and encountering new experiences and cultures has always been a passion of Janessa’s, so when she’s not working, you will likely find her and her husband trying out a new local spot or on another travel adventure with family and friends.

    Janess shares her insights and experiences and discusses her journey to her current position, best practices for building and maintaining relationships with clients, promoting new ideas, challenges facing the insurance industry, and staying up-to-date on industry trends and developments.

    “Listen before you speak. I feel like my mom ingrain that in me when I was younger, and it might have come from a place of ‘Hey, let your parents talk to you before you have something to say’ but I think as I've grown that's kind of stuck with me and something that has reverberated in a lot of different environments that I've been a part of, professionally of just hearing what people have to say.”

    MICHAEL: THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
    “I think the biggest hindrance that people run into whether it be insurance agencies or just in general is being stuck to making an idea succeed, and I feel like that's when people fail. Because they're so stuck on making this idea succeed. I think the key is being able to be adaptable and be able to say, ‘Okay, this isn't the original plan, but it's not working. So how can we change? How can we adapt?”
