Kris Esfandiari, the prolific artist behind King Woman, Miserable, Dalmatian, Sugar High, NIGHTCRWLR, and about 100 other projects, kicks off the first episode of HOT-BLOODED after a 6-month break. Recorded entirely in a parked car on the side of the road in Sacramento, this episode is an extremely real, off-the-cuff, conversation about how Kris writes her love stories in song form, the importance of being brave when it comes to love, and how some people go their entire life without learning what love is.

Mizmor’s A.L.N. on Leaving Christianity and Finding Love as an Atheist
A.L.N. is the vocalist and songwriter of the Portland, Oregon black-metal band, Mizmor. He is a former Christian who began writing songs for the project as a way to mourn the loss of his faith in God, and each album since has been a mile-marker in his acceptance of atheism. In this episode, he talks about how his longtime partner Sarah Ray, a bisexual atheist, saw him through the death of his Christianity and the birth of Mizmor.
