Making the Case Against the 401(k)
Professor Teresa Ghilarducci, a labor economist and retirement expert at The New School for Social Research, has been arguing for years that the 401(k), which was never intended to be the primary retirement savings vehicle for most American workers, only helps high earners and is riddled with misaligned incentives. She joins The Express to make the case for a new government sponsored retirement savings account that she says is more equitable and provides a pathway to allowing workers to not run out of money once they stop working. Plus, new record highs keep coming for the stock market, but by all accounts, this bull market is pretty tame.

Checking in on the Vibe Economy with Kyla Scanlon
Kyla Scanlon, who coined "The Vibe Economy", climbs back aboard The Express to check in on the vibes of consumers and investors following the release of her new book, 'In This Economy?". Kyla explains why people feel disconnected from the economy, and how to help them find their role in it. Plus, consumers are becoming much more discerning about their discretionary spending, and that is having a profound effect on the 'experience' economy. And, if you are looking for divergences in the stock market as it dances around record highs, there are plenty to choose from.

Why the U.S. Real Estate Market Might Be Healthier Than We Think
Julian Hebron of The Basis Point rejoins the show to myth-bust many of the media reports that have painted the real estate market with a broken brush. From affordability to supply, and the impact of A.I. to the seminal broker commission settlement, Julian shows why potential homebuyers and sellers are in the sweetest spot they've been in for years. Plus, more investors are sniffing around the junk bond market in search of higher and higher yields, but the rising stench of defaults is sending our warning winds. And, while the stock market makes new record highs behind the strength of Nvidia, consumer discretionary stocks have not been invited to the party.
