What most people don’t know is that the DJ, singer and producer from Hackney, London, has been an institution for British club culture long before she was headlining big festivals.
In conversation with The Week host Kikelomo, Eliza Rose talks about how East London has changed with gentrification, her early love for Harry Potter, what being underground means to her and her dream of owning a record shop one day.

Sugababes on remixing Push The Button, Gen Z and UK garage

The Sugababes are definitely having a moment right now. Between new music, appearances at festivals like Glastonbury and MELT, and them being all over our TikTok feeds, the legendary London group is back in a big way. As part of Deutsche Telekom’s Summer To Remember campaign, their biggest hit Push The Button has been remixed by Berlin duo DJ Heartstring. In this episode, they talk about the remix and being rediscovered by a new generation. Also, Juba presents this week’s news: the ends of MELT Festival and Institut für Zukunft, and Kamaal Williams being accused of sexual assault in a Resident Advisor piece.

Narciss in Conversation: nostalgia, "Bad Drag" and aging backwards

Narciss in Conversation: nostalgia, "Bad Drag" and aging backwards

Narciss is on a mission to make techno fun and colorful again. Born and raised in Berlin, the DJ and producer is the opposite of what their name might suggest, more like a nerdy video game fan, a 90s kid who’s grounded, humble, amazingly charming – and a queer icon in the making. After witnessing their first Loveparade in their mother’s womb, Narciss became a part of what they call "the anime school of DJs" and hyped up crowds from Japan to Canada.
In conversation with OttO Kent, Narciss talks about their love for the godfather of hard house Tony De Vit, "bad" make up, fake video fames, Trance as the first commercialized form of Dance music and the power of nostalgia.
