ThirdTalk interview with John Van Arman

ThirdTalk interview with John Van Arman

Pornography. As a parent, this is a scary and uncomfortable topic to think about, let alone discuss with your child. However we as parents need to put our own fears aside and address explicit adult material (EAM) openly and immediately, because this content is available for all of our young people on every device and social media platform they use. We can no longer hope or expect that they will not see EAM, or that our children will properly manage their own exposure, or remain unaffected if viewing EAM. We have tried for 20 years to remove it, restrict it, filter it or shake our fists at the problem, however our underage American children still view over 460 EAM videos every second of every day.

In this podcast, I interview the Founder of ThirdTalk, John Van Arnam, about his mission to help educate and equip parents on how to handle this very difficult topic with their children so that they can be protected and equipped for when they inevitably encounter EAM. Listen now.

Springtide Research Institute Interview with Josh Packard

Springtide Research Institute Interview with Josh Packard

In this interview, Dr. Packard and I discuss this and the values that young people practice and uphold.

Dr. Josh Packard is the Executive Director of Springtide Research Institute.

Dr. Packard and his team of researchers at Springtide utilize research to practice strategies to reflect and amplify the lived realities of young people (ages 13-25) as they navigate shifting social, cultural, and religious landscapes. Through numerous publications, Springtide offers research and actionable insight for those who care for youth on generation Z.

    More about Springtide:

We apply research to better understand how young people are making sense of their world, how they are seeking to identify in communities of connection, reconciling (or not) the unresolved discrepancies they experience, constructing identity, and pursuing and perceiving the sacred, spiritual, or divine impulses in their lives. We see this work as one of the most generous acts of advocacy we can do on behalf of young people desperately seeking whole lives through connection, meaning, and greater purpose.
