In this episode, Sophia Nimphius (Doc Soph), covers the documentary "Girl's can't surf", written and produced by Christopher Nelius with co-writer Julie Anne De Ruvo and co-produced by Michaela Perske. The film follows the stories of the pioneering women in surfing that pushed for their right to belong in a sport and in a time that others simply didn't want to give them permission to have those rights. I have a written review of the film that can be found on the Conversation. However, in this episode, I take the time to put the film into perspective from the view of staff in high performance sport and how the external challenges placed on these women, psychological and social, on top of the physical challenges increase the astonishing feat achieved.
