Weight is a major thing when people think of  body shaming.One study found 94 percent of all teenage girls, and 64 percent of teenage boys have been shamed for the way their body looks.

All types of people with all types of bodies have experienced body shaming. People still raise the fact of the two different and most known body types underweight and overweight.

A true story from my female friend about body shaming. When I was in middle school there was a group of boys who had made a Facebook post about me called everyone hates DR. I was sent a friend request and when I looked at the page it was a bunch of videos of people that were as the title read “600lb women dancing” and they would tag me in it and say look it’s DR. The page was up for about 5 months before the school had stepped in and made them take it down. The summer of my 8th grade year my mom had took me to the lake so i could swim and the boys that had made the account and bullied me over Facebook had seen me there while I was swimming and walked up to me and acted like they were sorry you know saying they felt bad for what they did and wanted to apologize so I was like it’s cool and then one of the boys took a thing of chicken liver out of his like cooler he was carrying and say “oh I’m not sorry about this though” and threw it on me they laughed called me a cow and I just stood there humiliated crying covered in chicken liver. Since that happened I have still not worn a 2 piece around anyone and have issues liking my body all because 3 boys decided to poke at me for so long.

Im take a deep breath after that one. 94 percent of people say that body shaming happens on social media. Another story of a girl who pushed passed body shaming.I've been pretty active and open about myself. I've been called fun-sized and never liked it. There were many times I got called skinny sometimes in a way people liked but other times they said it like it was a bad taste in their mouth. Picking at my body in ways that didn't fit their taste, small boobs, broad shoulders, hip dips. Took time but I've come to love some of those parts. Including stretch marks, nose shape, odd feet. This next one is a story from my male friend being body shamed

in middle school, i was around 12-13ish, it was PE and i was changing in the boys locker room, at the time and partially to this day i had trouble eating a lot of foods due to my autism, this made me very thin. it happened when i was taking off my shirt, one kid announced "whats wrong with your chest, i can see your ribs?", i got very embarrassed and quickly changed and headed out into the gym without saying a word.This is a personal story. While I was in girl scouts the girls would tell me I only weighed 90lbs. I need meat on my bones. My girl scout leader would buy me extra food so I'd eat more till I got sick.While  fat shaming and skinny shaming is different because of the body types it is all body shaming. I hate the words fat shaming and skinny shaming.

Body shaming is saying something negative about a person’s body. This would and does include things like a person’s size, age, hair, clothes, food, hair, level of perceived attractiveness.
