McGowan is running for council in Monaghan Ward in the Oct. 22 election, and on the Peterpodcast talked about creating communities through housing development and the city being ready for incoming growth, among other topics.
The former reporter for CHEX News in Peterborough covering the court beat who now administration for his family’s business says he’s running for council to help deal with the city’s challenges and appropriately prepare for oncoming growth.

Candidate Dean Pappas says public engagement is critical
Dean Pappas says he’s always tried to keep his door open to sitting down with residents in his ward to talk about the hard issues Peterborough faces.
But he says the way people were engaged in the PDI debate did not result in council listening to the public the way it should have.
Pappas is running for re-election for his seat in Town Ward on Oct. 22, and talked on the Peterpodcast about transit, housing and public engagement.
