मेरी पुरानी स्मृतियों में जिस तरह
तुम्हारा उग आना होता है
मटमैली, पीली, धुँधली सी हो कर
किसी विंटेज खिड़की से
थोड़ी सुन्दर
लेकिन छू लेने
महसूसने
पकड़ने से बहुत दूर
क्षणिकाओं की तरह।।

केदारनाथ सिंह शायद हिन्दी के समकालीन काव्य परिदृश्य में अकेले ऐसे कवि हैं, जो एक ही साथ गाँव के भी कवि हैं और शहर के भी। उनकी यह कविता शायद ऊँघते काटे जा रहे जंगलों की कराह होगी जो मुझे पढ़ने मिली।
