OUTBRK: Storm chasing video game early access launch [Ep. 495‪]‬ Carolina Weather Group

    • Natural Sciences

Years in the making, the "OUTBRK: Storm chasing simulator" video came for the computer is nearly here.

On Friday, June 28, 2024, the long-awaited online, multiple-player game will become available in "early access" on the Steam gaming platform. This will allow those who choose, the option to purchase the game and play the game while it remains in ongoing development. (Those who buy an early access game on Steam will receive, without further costs, ongoing updates as improvements are made and will receive a copy of the final game upon release.)

David Daigle-Carignan and Marc Remillard are the developers of OUTBRK. They returned to the Carolina Weather Group to discuss expectations for the June 28 early release date.

Over the past few years, they have developed a virtual, open-world that simulates real-world weather data from historic weather events. They created never-before-used technology and techniques to bring this weather to life.

Their goal is to create a storm-chasing game that is both fun and safe.

OUTBRK, which began as an early fundraiser on Kickstarter, can now be added to Wishlists on Steam, the platforming for PC gaming: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1107320/OUTBRK/

With co-hosts across both North Carolina and South Carolina, the show may closely feature both NC weather and SC weather, but the topics are universally enjoyable for any weather fan. Join us as we talk about weather, the environment, the atmosphere, space travel, and all the technology that makes it possible.
