Episode 7 | What About Your Friends? with Paulette Edwards LIVE WELL | WITH INTENTIONALLY TUNJA
-
- Mental Health
In 1992 the girl group, TLC, performed the hit song What About Your Friends.
As a 23-year-old young adult woman at the time that song was a hit, I remember distinctly being inspired by the lyrics to really get clear on the kind of friends I wanted in my life and the kind of friend I was going to be.
It was at that point my journey began – the journey to authentic friendship.
It matters who you marry.
It matters who you establish friendship with.
It matters who you are connected to on all levels of relationship.
A relationship can either make or break your destiny.
In this episode, Tunja engages in a conversation with her childhood friend, Paulette, to discuss the authenticity required in a relationship. After sharing decades of mutual friendship, these two women agree that when you get around the right people, you feel like you are on a vacation. Being connected to the right people - people who are emotionally healthy and mature - improves your mental and emotional wellbeing.
A thriving, destiny-making relationship is self-care for the soul.
