Reaction to the Padres visit to Anaheim. Matt Waldron continues to be fantastic but the offense didn't do enough to win game one (same thing for game two with Adam Mazur making his big league debut). Per Kevin Acee, this is the first time in franchise history that the Padres have lost three straight games in which their starting pitcher went at least six innings and gave up no more than one run. Dylan Cease pitched in the finale and Manny Machado had to exit after beating out a double play ball. Reaction to the Padres series vs. the Royals in Kansas City. San Diego made history in game one of the series, getting ELEVEN hits in one inning a night after the team went out to dinner together on their off day. Reaction to the Padres series win over the Marlins. Memorial Day may not have been a pretty win but we'll take all the wins we can get. Tuesday was a much more enjoyable win, as Matt Waldron pitched the best he's ever pitched in the big leagues and Jeremiah Estrada struck out his 11th, 12th and 13th consecutive batters to seal the shutout victory. Reaction to the Padres series loss vs. the Yankees at Petco Park. It was a Home Run Derby in game one with Yu Darvish on the mound, as Soto, Judge and Stanton all homered off of him and none of them were cheapies. The offense continued to struggle against lefties and the big duo of Tatis and Machado aren't providing enough power right now compared to other notable duos. Dylan Cease and Joe Musgrove pitched the two weekend games and San Diego was able to avoid the sweep.

Reaction to the Padres series win in Cincinnati vs. the Reds. Sure, they were playing their third game in almost 24 hours but the offense simply needed to be better in game one to support Joe Musgrove and the bullpen. Nick Martinez faced his former team in game two and Matt Waldron pitched in the series finale. Xander Bogaerts was placed on the IL and it seems like he'll be out for the next couple months.
