Ghost of Tsushima Is Sony's Biggest Single-player PC Launch Yet - IGN Daily Fix

Ghost of Tsushima Is Sony's Biggest Single-player PC Launch Yet - IGN Daily Fix

In today's Daily Fix: Sony's decision to release some of their formerly PlayStation-exclusive first-party games to PC is paying off. The latest port, Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, has become their biggest PC launch so far, surpassing God of War. In other news, Warner Bros.' MultiVersus is getting new fighters: Agent Smith from The Matrix franchise, and Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th. Never thought we'd see the day when Marvin the Martian and Jason Voorhees would go toe-to-toe, but here we are. And speaking of crazy crossovers, the rumors are true: Call of Duty is getting Gundam content later this month. It's not confirmed if you get to pilot a Gundam or what, but it's a pretty cool idea nonetheless.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Reportedly Going Straight to Game Pass - IGN Daily Fix

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Reportedly Going Straight to Game Pass - IGN Daily Fix

In today's Daily Fix: Via the Wall Street Journal, the next mainline Call of Duty game will likely launch straight to Xbox Game Pass later this year. The game, reportedly Black Ops 6, will be the first Call of Duty title to launch on Game Pass since publisher Activision was acquired by Microsoft in one of the biggest deals in video game history. Activision's previous head, Bobby Kotick, had not allowed the franchise on any subscription service, but since the acquisition things have obviously changed. In related Microsoft news, Redfall will finally get the last update that was promised. The update will include fixes to the Neighborhood and Nest systems, bug fixes, and an Offline Mode that players had been wanting since its disastrous release last year. Developer Arkane Austin was shuttered earlier this month, so it's surprising that this update will even happen. And finally, a new Total War game is in development, and if the rumors are true, it'll be set in the Star Wars universe. This won't be the first Star Wars RTS, but it will be the first in the popular Total War series that emphasizes large unit numbers. We'd gladly play through the Battle of Hoth for the umpteenth time in a Total War engine.

PS5 Outshipped Xbox 5:1 Last Quarter - IGN Daily Fix

PS5 Outshipped Xbox 5:1 Last Quarter - IGN Daily Fix

In today's Daily Fix:The hits just keep coming for Microsoft this month. One analyst believes that in the last fiscal quarter, Sony's PlayStation 5 shipped 5x more units that the Xbox Series consoles. Previously, it was believed that the PS5 was outselling the Series family at a 2:1 ratio since launch, so if these new numbers are accurate, it represents a recent widening of the gap between the two consoles. In related news, Hi-Fi Rush, the formerly Xbox exclusive game, will be getting its final update this week. With the closure of developer Arkane Austin, it's likely we won't be seeing a sequel in the future. And finally, details for Ubisoft's latest Assassin's Creed game, Shadows have been revealed. Check out the full details and breakdowns of the trailer at IGN.com.

Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 for May 2024 Announced - IGN Daily Fix

Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 for May 2024 Announced - IGN Daily Fix

In today's Daily Fix: Microsoft has revealed the second wave of games coming to the Game Pass service this month. Headlining the group is Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. The game is the long-awaited follow-up to the 2017 action-adventure game that proved to be an indie hit. Also coming to the service is Lords of the Fallen (not to be confused with the 2014 Lords of the Fallen, of which this is a quasi-sequel/soft reboot), EA Sports NHL 24, Chants of Sennaar, Moving Out 2, Immortals of Aveum, and more. In other news, Square Enix is admitted their latest Final Fantasy games have not met financial expectations. Last year's Final Fantasy 16, this year's Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and the multiplayer game Foamstars contributed to a loss of operating income for the company. Square Enix will undergo a restructuring, and will pursue a multiplatform strategy (Final Fantasies 16 and 7 Rebirth were both PS5 exclusive). And finally, in video game-adjacent news, Prime Video has ordered the live-action Tomb Raider show to series, meaning production will be fully underway with writer and executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge at the helm.d

Square Enix to Shift to Multiplatform Strategy in Company Reboot - IGN Daily Fix

Square Enix to Shift to Multiplatform Strategy in Company Reboot - IGN Daily Fix

In today's Daily Fix: Square Enix has announced a shift in strategy in relation to what platforms they release their games on. The company has reported an operating loss of nearly $52 million over the past fiscal year, despite launching two major entries in their marquee Final Fantasy franchise. 2023's Final Fantasy XVI and this year's Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth were both PlayStation 5 exclusives, which may have severely limited the number of copies they could sell. Square Enix also announced they will "aggressively purse" releasing games on Xbox and "Nintendo platforms." Nintendo has teased a Switch successor, but no release date has been set. In kind of related news, the original Red Dead Redemption may finally see a PC release. An update to the Rockstar PC gaming launcher site was revealed to make mention of the game and the Undead Nightmare expansion. The game was recently ported to the Switch and PS4, but has never seen an official PC release. And finally, a team of Helldivers 2 modders have flipped a lot of the assets in the game to a Clone Wars-era Star Wars theme, and the results look awesome. Keep an eye on Nexus Mods for when those assets become available.
