Romans chapter 5 says that sin came into the world through one man and death spread to all men as a result.
So there was an effect of sin on the whole of humanity that came in through one man named Adam. But Christ came to abolish sin and also the effects of sin. When we come to faith in Christ we are offered a new life: living a life by grace through faith.
Our oneness with Christ gives us access into a whole new experience of living a life free from sin and death.
