    EPISODE 3 - Architecture, Travel , and Books .... Oh My !!!

Nashville obtained its name as “Athens of the South” initially because of its dedication to higher education. But in 1897, a replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece ;that was originally built for the Tennessee centennial exposition help to solidify this name. Till this day, this monument serves as a reminder as what is considered to be the pinnacle of classical architecture.

Today’s guest is a true Southern Belle, that connects the two worlds of Athens and Nashville. Her expertise as former director of Education at the Parthenon, has now landed her the position of Director of the American Branch of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy.

Here to give us more insight on the Athens of the South and the original Athens in Greece is Author, Spokesperson, Painter, Advocate , and most recently Empress of India , DeeGee Lester .

    Alison Brazil- Louisiana Latin Soul

    Alison Brazil- Louisiana Latin Soul

Today our guest is a perfect example of impeccable fusion of different genres creating a whole new unique colorful form of music.
Her genre is called Louisiana Latin Soul: it is uplifting danceable groves with flavors and spices and world rhythms .
We met Allison while teaching  at Glenlciff High School. Her journey to her career has not been easy, but
with the support of friends and families, she continues to voice her
message through music. As she says "Our roads are winding roads and
everyone's road leads them on a different journey. The way that you find the road is by making
the road. 'Caminante, no hay camino. Se hace camino al andar. Golpe a golpe, verso a verso'.
Tune in so you can hear how Nashville has rooted Alison Brazil  to the woman she is today.
