Episode 1 : Wombs and Travelling bodies

Welcome to first episode of Travel Matters. I, Ishita Dey will be your host for today.

Travel can be therapeutic, and empowering. One of the well tested health advice that has stood the test of time is change of weather - be it a hill station, or sea side. With advancement of medical technologies people started crossing borders for medical treatment to cities so much so that have a dedicated visa to enable travellers. However not everyone had it easy.  Get ready to experience how women travellers were scrutinised in embassies if they were travelling for leisure or for abortion. Also, how open borders and visa on arrival helped surrogacy tourism to expand. Join us on this twenty-minute global tour with pit stops at Chicago, Tokyo, Sweden, Poland, Anand and Cambodia.
