In a career spanning more than 20 years, Glen has established himself as one of Australia’s leading sports announcers, presenters, and masters of ceremony. He has worked at a diverse range of national and international events covering many different sports.
On the international stage, Glen worked as the hockey announcer at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Rio 2016 Olympic Games, 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, 2006 Asian Games in Doha, as well as the 2009 Champions Trophy Hockey (women’s) in Sydney. Most recently, he travelled to Japan to work as the announcer at the Ready Steady Tokyo Olympic Hockey test event.
In 2019, Glen also landed a role as the volleyball court announcer at the Special Olympic World Games held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and travelled to Tokyo to work at the hockey test event for the 2020 Toyko Olympic Games.
He also has extensive announcing experience in football at both national and international level. Over a 12-year period up to 2019, he was the ground announcer at many international matches featuring the Socceroos, as well as the international fixtures at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium featuring Manchester United, Juventus, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspurs and Liverpool.
Since the summer of 2005/06, Glen has been the Sydney CricketGround announcer at all Test, One-Day and T20 Internationalcricket fixtures. In the 2014/15 summer, Glen was appointed by Cricket Australia as the ground announcer at all international fixtures around the country, andfor the past three summers has been the on-field host forAustralia’s men’s and women’s One Day International matches.
In 2020, on the eve of the global pandemic, Glen was behind the microphone at the Melbourne Cricket Ground for the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Final between Australia and India, played in front of a record crowd 86,174.
Glen worked extensively in rugby league for almost two decades. He has been the National Rugby League’s ground announcer and on-field presenter the league’s marquee events, including the NRL Magic Round in Brisbane, Test Matches, State of Origin, NRL All Stars, finals series, Grand Final and other representative matches.
