Bronny James' agent, Rich Paul, discussed the interest in his client ahead of the 2024 NBA draft. James has only worked out for two teams, the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns, but Paul indicated the Dallas Mavericks, Toronto Raptors, and Minnesota Timberwolves all have interest, even implying Toronto might take Bronny at No. 31 overall. Do we buy this, or is it all part of the pre-draft process for agents?

Kevin Young and the BYU Cougars landed another one-and-done caliber talent in Kanon Catchings, a former Purdue commit who is ranked No. 35 in the 2024 recruiting class. BYU now has two high level incoming freshmen, as Catchings joins Russian guard Egor Demin in an electric class. Is it enough for the Cougars to compete in the loaded Big 12?

The Boston Celtics are the 2024 NBA Champions. In light of that, it’s time to take a look back the college version of this roster that just won. Other than Porzingis, they all went to an American college. Who had the highest single-season scoring average among the group? (Hint: He wore green). Did any of the Celtics win national championships (What’s up Al!)?

Also, Providence got good news on Monday when Oswin Erhunmwunse decided to reclassify for the 2024-25 season. He should bring some immediate stability to Kim English’s frontcourt. In other recruiting news, Arthur Kaluma is set to visit…SMU.

Coleman Hawkins has selected his landing spot – Kansas State. It’s unlikely where he, or anyone else, thought he would wind up, but here we are. Jerome Tang’s Wildcats now have eight transfers, two incoming freshmen, and three returners – utilizing all 13 available scholarships. The frontcourt might be overloaded as Hawkins adds to a group that already included incoming transfers Ugonna Onyenso (Kentucky), Baye Fall (Arkansas), and Achor Achor (Samford). It will interesting to see how Coach Tang manages it all. How will the Wildcats fare with a loaded Big 12? It will be difficult to crack the perceived top five of Kansas, Iowa State, Arizona, Baylor, and Houston.

Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark is working on securing a $1B investment from a private equity firm, who would then own a 20% stake in the conference. This deal would ensure Big 12 programs are earning similar amounts of money to the Big Ten, but it's a wild step in the ever changing college athletics landscape. The Big 12 is also looking for a title sponsor and may chance the conference name.

ESPN, on Wednesday, announced the pairings for the second annual ACC/SEC Challenge. With the expansion of both conferences, the event, which will take place on Tuesday, December 3 and Wednesday, December 4, will feature 16 matchups between a team from each conference, with Stanford and SMU the lone teams left out. The featured games include North Carolina hosting Alabama in a Sweet 16 rematch on Wednesday, December 4 as well as Auburn at Duke, also on Wednesday.



The Players Era Festival was officially announced on Wednesday, with the first four pairings featuring Houston vs. Alabama and Rutgers vs. Notre Dame in one bracket with Oregon vs. Creighton and San Diego St vs. Texas A&M in the other.
