Dayton Raiola throws at Nebraska camp as the Huskers assess their QB future

Dayton Raiola throws at Nebraska camp as the Huskers assess their QB future

We're back to discuss the Friday Night Lights camp at Nebraska, which featured Dayton Raiola, the brother of Nebraska's heir apparent to start at quarterback. All of the Raiolas were in the house of Friday. What does it mean for the Huskers' QB future? Also, Connor experienced a long weekend at the College World Series and got a close-up view of some Aggies -- not named Trev Alberts -- who are no longer welcomed in Omaha. And we discuss a big weekend for Adrian Martinez, who had a brush with Tom Brady and added to his legacy as it relates to Nebraska.

Nebraska recruiting and an inside look at the new Osborne Legacy Complex

Nebraska recruiting and an inside look at the new Osborne Legacy Complex

The first big recruiting weekend of June is upon us in Lincoln. Four-star prospects from inside and outside the state of Nebraska are expected on campus for official visits. What's more essential in building this Class of 2025 -- locking down the borders or snagging elite talent from faraway spots? We discuss. Also, Mitch participated in cooking demo this week at the new Osborne Complex in order to better understand the experience of a visiting recruit. We talk about his Teriyaki Shrimp dish. And there's plenty to see from functional and technological standpoints inside the new building.

QB talk: As Nebraska ponders a summer addition, what could it mean?

QB talk: As Nebraska ponders a summer addition, what could it mean?

This is the week of summer -- finally -- that brought us the opportunity to talk again about the Nebraska quarterbacks. So we're spending an entire episode on it. Monday in Lincoln at the Huskers' post-graduate camp, two QBs showed up, somewhat unannounced, to work out with Glenn Thomas and the Nebraska coaching staff. Jalyn Gramstad, the reigning NAIA player of the year, and juco product Bryce Conover both impressed the Huskers enough to get private, post-camp invitations into the building. Will Nebraska offer a spot to one of them -- and what would it mean for Dylan Raiola, Heinrich Haarberg and Danny Kaelin if another QB enters the picture before August?

An emerging concern for Nebraska football on defense

An emerging concern for Nebraska football on defense

The start of the summer at Nebraska brought a few roster departures from the football team. Of note, cornerback Ethan Nation is no longer with the Huskers. How much should Nebraska start to worry about depth at corner -- and what can Tony White and Matt Rhule do to avoid a problem at the opposite Tommi Hill in the secondary early in the season? Also, camps are underway in Lincoln. Nebraska offered scholarships to a pair of young QBs and picked up another commitment for the Class of 2025. And we finish with a conversation about the state of college sports through the lens of the all-SEC and ACC field set to invade the state of Nebraska this week for the College World Series.

As June recruiting starts well for Nebraska, what is the future of NIL?

As June recruiting starts well for Nebraska, what is the future of NIL?

Recruiting in the month of June is off to a strong start for Nebraska, with commitments from a 2025 running back and an out-of-the-blue German lineman who showed up at camps in Texas attended by Nebraska coaches. Who is David Hoffken, and how did the Huskers find him before any other big program? Also, we discuss the now-scrapped plans to play a softball game at Memorial Stadium, as reported Thursday by KETV. And we hear words from Nebraska AD Troy Dannen about the NIL landscape and where the Huskers sit on it. Have things changed already in the weeks since Dannen spoke this spring at an 1890 Initiative event?

Is Nebraska's offense built to feature a 1,000-yard running back?

Is Nebraska's offense built to feature a 1,000-yard running back?

Does Nebraska need a 1,000-yard running back? Connor and Mitch debate the benefits and drawbacks -- yes, there are drawbacks -- of the Huskers' reliance on a workhorse in the backfield. If championship-level teams in the college game still lean on one back, why not Nebraska? Also, we're talking about Nebraska basketball as it adds another transfer in former UCLA forward Berke Buyuktuncel. Fred Hoiberg’s roster is perhaps complete for the 2024-25 season. How do we see it? And the latest episode of "Chasing 3" is out, featuring insight into Thomas Fidone, Rahmir Johnson and the new coach-to-player helmet communication system. Finally, some roster and recruiting news from this week.
