Teen Movie Director for Amazon Prime Video

Teen Movie Director for Amazon Prime Video

I had an amazing conversation with teen director and actor, Michael Keane, to learn more about his story working in the film industry. We first discuss his viral short film, Covid Éire, which received multiple nominations and won awards such as the Spirit Award at the IFTA Qualifying Indie Cork Film Festival. Michael shares his inspiration behind the film and gives us a behind the scenes look for how the short film was put together. We continue to talk about his future projects, such as starring on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and BBC's upcoming feature film and series, The Kingdom. (Yes we do spill some tea on celebrities). Stay tuned!

Only Child Syndrome, Breaking Away From Close Friendships

Only Child Syndrome, Breaking Away From Close Friendships

In this episode, I chat with my friend, Celeste, about Only Child Syndrome-- a term coined to describe only children as spoiled, selfish, lonely, and antisocial. As the only child ourselves, we share whether or not these descriptions are true and dive deeper into all the pros and cons of being an only child. We discuss the importance of friends and family, while also sharing our views on commitment and isolation. I even expose my lonely rollercoaster ride experiences... which was really embarrassing... Throughout this episode we also have deep discussions about friendships, such as distancing yourself away from previous close friends and viewing friends as family. Getting Over a Breakup, How to be Happy Single

Last year, Calypso joined me on my podcast to share her cute relationship stories. However, today, she is here to share her breakup story. She describes the long, teary days, coping with grief, and what it takes to finally accept the breakup. Later on, we discuss how to live a more independent and happy, single life while emphasizing that there should be no shame in wanting a relationship either. Responding to Teen Mom Stereotypes, Sexual Double Standards

Responding to Teen Mom Stereotypes, Sexual Double Standards

Continuing the story from our last episode, Stav explains how Vanessa's father reacted to her pregnancy. We start to discuss the gender bias that is apparent when it comes to girls being judged and looked down upon for dating or having sex, while boys are praised and idolized for doing the same thing. Also, why is it that being nice is equivalent to flirting now?! Throughout the episode, Stav addresses stereotypes such as how teen moms are bad parents and irresponsible people. To end the episode, Stav gives her best piece of advice for other teen parents who may be listening (but this advice really applies for anyone... hint: give yourself some time to find out... the hint will make more sense once you finish the episode). Pregnant at 14 | Teen Mom Story

Pregnant at 14 | Teen Mom Story

Today, I interviewed Stav, teen mom and TikTok star. She describes her story as a teen mom, explaining how it felt when she first found out she was pregnant at 14. She explains the fear she felt telling those around her, specifically her mother. Stav later explains how she considered all three of her options: abortion, adoption, or keeping Vanessa (her daughter). Many obstacles were thrown at her, making her decision on whether or not to keep her baby even more complicated. She finally makes the decision to keep Vanessa as she lays on the hospital bed right after giving birth-- but then lawyers get involved?! Throughout the episode, we discuss how pregnancy was physically and emotionally demanding, especially for a 14 year old. Stay tuned for the second part of this series where we will be talking more about how Stav told Vanessa's father about her pregnancy, his reaction, teen mom stereotypes, sexual double standards, and why it is taboo to talk about sex and puberty.
