The title is inspired by a haiku written by Kobayashi Issa, a Japanese poet and lay Buddhist priest. He wrote this haiku upon the death of his daughter, feeling conflicted between illusory nature of the world and his human experience of grief, longing, and love. This podcast is about the beautiful narratives we create and experience in a world that is ultimately temporary and insignificant. Here is the poem:
