Welcome to Five Chapters Left! Let's talk about the end of the world. My name is Mandi and I'm a Writing and Rhetoric/Cultural Studies student with an interest in theology! Particularly eschatology which is the theological study of the end of the world and all the totally not anxiety-inducing things that go along with it. In this show, I'm combining the two fields of study I love and exploring topics in eschatological cultural studies. I don’t claim to be able to save the world or prevent its destruction with this podcast, but my goals are to challenge the master narratives about spirituality, reveal some connections between the extreme claims by biblical prophecy and the ever-mounting social problems of today, and if I’m successful, lead you to see the social problems of today in a way that will promote kind, intuitive, and sensitive problem-solving.
