    Annoyance

    Annoyance

Do some people just grind your gears? Is it okay if I get frustrated by someone else? Do I have permission to let someone know if they are bothering me? Nate and Micah hop into the word to try and find some of these answers. Interestingly enough, both of the guys get really annoyed at bad drivers and find their patience often tested behind the wheel. A couple of verses they referenced in this episode are Proverbs 12:16, "Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult" and 2 Timothy 1:7 "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." Hopefully we don't annoy you too much in this one!

    What Should Good Theology Produce?

    What Should Good Theology Produce?

In this episode, Nate and Micah have a little chat about the importance of theology - why having clear, articulate terms to describe your faith is integral for avoiding dangerous pitfalls. One of the traps of spending too much time learning more religious verbiage is becoming prideful in your thinking. The boys talk about how learning more about God and applying accurate descriptions of Him should actually produce humility. R.C. Sproul states "The more I learn about God, the more aware I become of what I don't know about him."

    Working on Purpose

    Working on Purpose

How do I be a good Christian if i don't work in ministry? How can I find purpose in my work? In this episode, Micah and Nate dive into the topic of "work" to help answer those questions. Using Colossians 3:23 ("Whatever you do, work with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men") as a guide, they cover the importance of identifying your "why" and the Hebrew work "Adovah" which simultaneously means "work," "worship," and "service."
(This episode was recorded the Wednesday before Nathan's birthday and Micah did, in fact, write Nathan a birthday card the following day. It was delivered as a surprise set up by Nathan's girlfriend. Nathan really does have good people in his life and is extremely grateful ☺).

    Commitment

    Commitment

FOMO, flaking, fickle friends. Why is it so hard for people to stay committed to things? Whether is be relationships, work, or showing up to social events, getting commitments from people (or committing ourselves) seems to be a challenge for most. Micah and Nathan take a look at Proverbs 16:3 and other verses to help gain a better understanding for the importance of honoring your word.

Enjoying God w/ Dr. Sam Storms

Enjoying God w/ Dr. Sam Storms

Micah and Nathan are joined by Dr. Sam Storms; a self-proclaimed "Amillennial, Calvinistic, charismatic, credo-baptistic, complementarian, Christian Hedonist who loves his wife of 50 years, his two daughters, his four grandchildren, books, baseball, movies, and all things Oklahoma University." While some of those labels seem contradictory on the surface, Dr. Storms provides helpful context and Biblical support for his beliefs. In this episode, the discussion shifts to focus on Christian Hedonism and what "enjoying God" looks like on a practical basis.
