Scripture: Acts 2:1-21
On the day of Pentecost, the Church remembers the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and Peter's first sermon for the crowd that misunderstood what was happening. Pulling inspiration from Joel 2, he proclaims the saving love of Jesus, and 3,000 people respond to his preaching. The Church burst onto the scene on Pentecost, and the world has never been the same. How does the Holy Spirit continue to inspire us to speak up?

How does Jesus' ascension connect to his resurrection and connect to us? In the resurrection, Jesus defeated death, but his ascension in the sight of his disciples proved it was possible and further strengthened our hope in our own resurrection following our deaths. In the meantime, Jesus has given us a charge: to be witnesses. How do you witness to your faith where you are, in the world around you, and to the ends of the earth?

The Apostle Paul called himself at one point in scripture "one who was born at the wrong time" since he missed out on being with the Sanhedrin during the time of Jesus' ministry. But that did not stop the Risen Jesus from getting his attention on the road to Damascus. We are born way after Jesus and the Apostle Paul, but God still gets our attention through Jesus. How can we follow Jesus as faithfully as Paul did?
