God’s Training School
1 Samuel 18-26

In our passage, we will see three descriptions about God’s training for HIS disciples.

God’s Program

1. Not explained to the disciple in advance.
2. The program goes on for a lifetime.
3. Courses must be repeated even if you pass.
4. Training is necessary for a person to be able to handle prosperity.
God’s Courses

1. Broken Promises (101).
2. Evil for Good (101).
3. Opportunity Testing (101).
Course Objectives

1. Seeing the Lord’s love even in your adversity.
2. Relying on God, and not on you.
3. Waiting on the Lord’s timing.
4. Acknowledging your sin quickly to the Lord.

Are You Born Again?
John 3:1-5

There are two important concepts we must consider from this passage.

The Kingdom of God

1. What is the Kingdom of God?
2. The rule of Jesus on earth.
3. Why care about God’s Kingdom?

Born Again

1. Being religious does not matter.
2. What is Born Again?
A. When a person has a Heartfelt trusting in Jesus Christ for salvation.
B. An Assurance of sins forgiven.
C. A desire for God’s Word.
D. A desire for Christian fellowship.
E. Delight in worship.
F. Telling others about Jesus.
3. There is only one way to be Born Again.

Trust God even when it makes No Sense

Praying by Faith

1. Obedient to God’s difficult commands.
2. Appealing to God’s character.
A. God is all-powerful.
B. God is gracious.
C. God’s wrath against all sin.
3. Understanding God’s sovereign purpose.
Trusting in the Past

1. A man of faith.
2. Interpreter of dreams.
3. Faithful follower and successful leader.
4. I have fought the good fight.
Habits of People Who Trust in God

1. Daily appointments with God.
2. Wholehearted obedience to the Lord.

God has a plan for you…

2. Always pray wherever you are.
3. Listening to the wrong influences.
4. We should not think short-term.
God Knows You

1. God’s knowledge is individual and intimate.
2. God knows about your sins.
3. God knows our situation.
A. God knows your past.
B. God knows your present.
C. God has made promises.
Seeking the LORD

1. Seeking God with your heart.
2. God’s restoration and reconciliation.
