Movie Mike’s Movie Podcast is hosted by Mike D who is the head writer on The Bobby Bones Show and The BobbyCast where he has been dubbed as the ‘resident movie expert’. The podcast offers a weekly deep dive in a cinema topic often formatted in a ranking list format. Each episode, Mike gives a spoiler free review of a new movie in theaters or streaming at home. Plus, Mike offers listeners a look at what’s coming to a screen near you soon inside of Movie Mike’s Trailer Park where he breaks down the latest film teasers. Mike is a frequent moviegoer and researcher of movie facts and trivia. He doesn’t consider himself a ‘critic’ because he’s just a guy who loves movies!

Mike’s favorite movie of 2023 ‘Godzilla Minus One’ had a surprise drop on Netflix and quickly went to No. 1. In honor of that, Mike shares the best new movies that were released in the last year and are now available to watch at home. All movies have been added recently to streamers and might be ones that you may have missed in theaters but can now experience for free at home. In the Movie Review, Mike and Kelsey review Disney's Young Woman and the Sea starring Daisy Ridley. They share what made the movie so inspirational, the rules on 'spoiling' movies based on history and why Disney is the best at making inspirational sports movies. In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about why the final Venom movie will be a beautiful disaster. Venom: The Last Dance is the third movie in the "Venom" trilogy and it brings back Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and his alien alter-ego, as they both are on the run from their species.

They share their favorite childhood DVDs, the era of DVD menus, directors commentary and bootleg copies. In the Movie Review, Mike and Kelsey talk about Babes starring Ilana Glazer. It’s about her character that gets pregnant from a one-night-stand and then leans on her best friend and mother of two to guide her through gestation and beyond. Mike and Kelsey share what made the movie laugh out loud funny, the classification of ‘raunchy’, the portrayal of motherhood and how it made them feel about having kids. It’s about a 12 year old who discovers she can see everyone's imaginary friends, so she goes on a magical adventure to reconnect forgotten IFs with their kids. Mike shares why family movies have a special place in his heart, his imaginary friend growing up, why the movie felt unoriginal but ended up hitting him on an emotional level. In the Trailer Park, Mike gives his thoughts on M. Night Shyamalan’s new movie coming out this summer called Trap. It’s about a man and his teenage daughter who realize they're at the center of a dark and sinister event while watching a concert…and could be his best yet! (hopefully!)
