Who is playing video games? Most of us!

Who is playing video games? Most of us!

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. The Entertainment Software Association is once again out with a survey and report that outlines the popularity of video games. And from Wordle players to hard core gamers and everyone in between …the numbers continue to grow. ESA CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis..

“What we found this year is that everyone is playing and that it remains one of America’s favorite pastimes. More than 190 million people play videogames today, that’s more than 61 percent of our population. And we literally cover every demographic and it correlates really well to U.S. demographics. A lot of people have an image in their head of what they think a video game player is. We found that 46 percent of people who play games are women.”

And the number of older adults playing is surprising too. Find more at www.TheESA.com.

Considering an EV? GM's Derek Sequeira

Considering an EV? GM's Derek Sequeira

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. When it comes to considering electric vehicles, GM is continuing to push consumers in that direction. Director of EV Ecosystems Derek Sequeira says the automaker’s Ultium battery technology provides great range…and EVs can save owners money. But what about people who may not own a home…or have a garage?

“For those who are in multi-family dwellings, condos, townhomes, we want to make sure that they know that there are options. First of all, you can work with your condo board or HOA to see how you can get level two charging installed in those facilities.”

And beyond that GM is helping to grow the public charging network. And GM plans to incorporate the NACS or Tesla charging standard into vehicles next year.

Tonal brings tech to fitness and strength training

Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. Getting stronger with some help from tech. Tonal is a company that has brought lots of tech into fitness and strength training. The wall mounted smart gym machine can digitally adjust resistance tailored to your abilities…on the fly. Troy Taylor is senior performance director…

“We create electro-magnetic resistance to create the resistance profile and so that allows a couple of things. Number one it makes it much smaller. There’s two arms that rotate out, there’s an integrated TV screen, touch screen. And so you can have coach guided workouts and programs.”

Tonal is a pretty big investment …and requires a subscription as well that covers everyone in the family. They have some pretty big names helping the brand along…including basketball great LeBron James. Head to Tonal.com for more.
