True Crime: The Last Witch Burned in Ireland | Bridget Cleary Hatch and Bar

    • True Crime

This week the gang goes back in time to 1895 Ireland.

Our hero Bridget fell ill with what was likely pneumonia or another respiratory infection. Her condition worsened, and her appearance became frail. At the time, there were superstitions surrounding fairies and changelings in Irish folklore. Some believed that fairies could steal a person's soul and replace them with a "changeling" – an imposter who looked like the original person. Unfortunately, these superstitions played a significant role in Bridget's tragic fate.

Take your head meds, light one up, slam a handle of whiskey or Dr. Soda, whatever you need to do to open this week's Hatch and Bar. Let us do the dishes with you!
