    S2 Ep 1 | Practical Pause | SOAP Luke 1:26 - 33

    S2 Ep 1 | Practical Pause | SOAP Luke 1:26 - 33

    Description:
Do you ever feel like what God may be calling you to do ever feels so big or drastic that you notice a little bit of “fear and trembling” as Paul notes in Phil 2:12-13? In the King James Version of the Bible, “Fear” is spoken of over 500 times where there are commands to “Fear not” and as well as sayings to “Fear God.” In addition to not being overtaken with a spirit of fear, we’re called to fear God and revere Him alone, not fearing anyone or anything else.

However, as humans, there may be real moments when God calls us to big things, and a healthy sense of fear may be there as we take in His call in awe of Him, while being fearful of offending, disobeying, or failing to do the call in our own strength. That’s where dependence on God is key, so we can lean on His spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.

In this Practical Pause, we take time to reflect on God’s big calls in life in the story of Mary today. These Practical Pause exercises are available for free, but all support is appreciated through CheddarUp and Patreon (see below)!

    What We’ll Do:
Chrissy and Emma Rose walk us through Luke 1:26 - 33, the birth of Jesus foretold to Mary. They will walk through the SOAP method of studying the Bible. SOAP stands for looking at Scripture, Observing the text, Applying it, and Praying about it. Our hope is that God will speak to you through His word as He spoke to Mary. May He bring His Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind in place of any fear between you and His big call for you!
