Practical teaching as to how Christians should live in this world.
-
No blood, no altar now.
No blood, no altar now,
The sacrifice is o'er!
No flame, no smoke ascends on high,
The lamb is slain no more,
But richer blood has flowed from nobler veins,
To purge the soul from guilt, and cleanse the reddest stains. -
Weights and Measures.
Our God is a God who weighs and measures.
God weighs people on his balances. In Daniel 5 we read of the great feast of King Belshazzar. He called for the vessels taken from the Temple of God to be brought so that his wives and concubines might indulge in a drunken revelry.
But God intervened, a hand wrote on the wall - "Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting".
How does my life weigh on God's scales? -
Psalm 16.
Preserve me, O God; for in Thee do I put my trust
At Thy right hand are pleasures for evermore -
The Two Adams.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive....the first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. (1 Corinthians 15: 22 and 47.)
If you do not believe in the first man you cannot believe in the Second! -

Unspotted from the World.
Spots are a teenager’s nightmare! But Christians should also avoid them. Paul warns believers to “keep oneself unspotted from the world” by not being conformed to its accepted standards, conduct and behaviour.
Our Saviour was “without blemish and without spot”.
Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
“Full atonement!” can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Saviour!
