From the heart From the Heart of the Home

If a smoke detector was going off in your house in the middle of the night, would you take the batteries out to stop it beeping & climb back into bed?

OR would you get up, see if something's actually on fire, get everyone out safely then attend to the fire?

Maybe it's a rubbish analogy but it's something I speak about in this episode. It's an analogy that makes sense in my head (when so many things don't) to explain the way I see one aspect of things right now.

I've felt so many things weighing heavily on me recently & wasn't quite sure how to express myself other than talking it out, unscripted.

I spoke about privilege, division, what I think it will take to bring us back together again & some little suggestions to help us remember we are one, but we are many.

I hope it might help those who are afraid to speak to find their voice. I hope it might help those who don't understand me or think I'm insane to at least see my perspective. See my heart behind what I share & the way I see things.

I also hope it will make those who think I'm 'the problem,' or I'm selfish or (insert other derogatory thought) that I can understand where others are coming from. I really can. I'm not oblivious to it. I'm not ignoring it. I don't not take this seriously.

Most of all I hope it inspires a little more unity, a little less division.
