Queen Nanny of the Maroons was a no nonsense tactician and herbalist who repeatedly outwit her rivals, the British, by employing African war strategies. She and her community of Maroons made such an impact on Jamaica's history that she has since been immortalized on the Jamaican 500 dollar bill.
