    Richard Northey has been a leader in campaigning for a nuclear free New Zealand since he was a teenager.
    He chaired the NZ Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in the 70’s and ‘80s, and was an MP in the Labour government for three terms between 1984-1996.
    Richard was an Auckland City Councillor for many years and currently serves on the Waitemata Local board.
    He currently chairs the Peace and Disarmament Collective Aotearoa, formerly known as the Peace Foundation’s International Affairs and Disarmament committee, which he has done for the last 20 years.
