જ્યારે વ્યાસજી શુકદેવજીને વર્ણાશ્રમ વિશે સમજાવે છે ત્યારે તેના જવાબમાં શુકદેવજી પોતાના પિતા વ્યાસજીને સંન્યાસ વિશેની વાત કહે છે તેઓ તો સન્યાસી છે. તે સમય તત્ત્વગ્યાનની તલબ લાગેલી હોવાથી શુકદેવજી વ્યાસજી પાસે તત્વનાની.ભિક્ષા માંગે છે. તેના જવાબ વ્યાસજી તેમને દેવી ભાગવત સમજવાની વાત કરેં છે.
