Bouncing Back, with Dr. Thalia Balkaran

Why we will make it

Climate-related disasters are happening more and more often on Earth. And while they manifest in different forms and places, not all humans are equally at risk.
For this episode, we invited Dr. Thalia Balkaran. This wonderful woman is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist  at the National Center for Disaster Preparedness (NCDP) of Columbia Climate School. She studies disaster preparedness and specializes in resilient children and communities in the context of small islands in the Caribbean.
She shared some really interesting facts on climate resilience, risk reduction, vulnerability, and how communities can bounce back when disaster strikes with Alterleap's founder, Ariana.

*Note: As great as technology is when it comes to connecting with people who are in different locations, sometimes there are issues that can get out of our hands. The audio in this episode is a bit uneven. We recommend listening with earplugs or headphones for best quality.
