Matty and Scott Hazelton catch up to preview the 2023 Lonely Mountain Ultra.
That’s right, it’s back in 2023 and it will be bigger and better than ever. With distances of 11k, 22, 30, 50k, 50m and 100k, runners tackle the foreboding peak of Mount Canobolas (the Lonely Mountain). With the race village pumping below, this year with the completion of capital works, the summit will be transformed into a real party atmosphere with the main aid station perched right at the top.
The village can be spotted 600 vertical meters below. Onsite camping, or a quick drive to town for any number of accommodation choices, why not set aside the weekend of 14th/15th October 2023 and come and run in the Lonely Mountain Ultra.
