The Dallas Stars fall to the Vegas Golden Knights in game 1 by a final score of 4-3. The Stars came out flat in the first period and the Knights struck three times, including twice on the power play. Jamie Benn and Jason Robertson scored in the period to cut the deficit to one heading into the 2nd. The Stars out shot the Knights in the middle period, but failed to pierce through Logan Thompson who started in net for the VGK. Jake Oettinger was not very busy in the final two periods, but Vegas made his life tough on their goals. It's no question the Stars will need more from Thomas Harley, Miro Heiskanen, Roope Hintz, Matt Duchene if they want to beat Vegas at full strength. They will also have to make adjustments in their defensive zone exits and the way they attack Vegas. The Knights blocked 20 shots and forced a ton of shot attempts from the perimeter by Dallas.
