Locked On Marlins POSTCAST: ('LIVE') Marlins Top Cardinals 9-8 in Extra Inning SlugFest
The Miami Marlins out slugged the St. Louis Cardinals 9-8 in ten innings, evening this three-game series at one apiece in Miami.
Vidal Brujan's single drove in Nick Gordon with the winning run in the bottom of the tenth, right after Tim Anderson's infield single scored Jesus Sanchez with the tying run.
Dylan Carson's sacrifice fly had given the Cardinals the 8-7 lead in the top of the tenth inning.
Sanchez went 3-5 with a home run and three RBI's, Christian Bethancourt homered and drove in two runs, and Anderson had another two-hit game to lead the Miami attack.
Brendan Donovan, Alec Burleson and Paul Goldschmidt homered for the Cardinals, on a night when starter Lance Linn got rocked for.six runs on ten hits in 5 1/3 innings.
The Cardinals lit up Miami starter Roddery Munoz for seven runs on eight hits in four innings, taking him deep three times. -

Locked On Marlins POSTCAST: ('LIVE') Marlins Fall to St. Louis Cardinals 7-6 in 12 Innings in Miami
Masyn Winn hit a two-run home run in the top of the 12th inning, and Dylan Carlson threw out Nick Gordon- the potential tying run- at the plate in the bottom half, to lead the St. Louis Cardinals past the Miami Marlins, 7-6 in twelve innings.
Bryan De La Cruz smashed a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, tying the game at four, and setting up.
Ivan Herrera’s two-run triple off Calvin Faucher had broken a 1-1 tie in the top of the eighth inning, and the Cards added one more run from there to make it 4-1.
Both teams’ bullpens wasted great outings from their starting pitchers.
Cards’ starter Sonny Gray went 7 2/3 strong innings – the longest start of the season for the Cardinals this season- allowing just one run on five hits, striking out four and walking just two.
Miami’s Braxton Garrett pitched six innings, also allowing just one run on five hits. The lefty struck out six hitters. -

Locked On Marlins POSTCAST: 'LIVE' Washington Nationals Beat Marlins 3-1, finish 3-Game Sweep in DC
The Washington Nationals continued their dominance over the Miami Marlins, cruising to a 3-1 win, finishing off the three-game sweep and running their perfect record against them to 7-0 this season.
Mitchell Parker pitched six innings, allowing a run on six hits, striking out four, making him the third straight Nats starter to stifle the Marlins this weekend.
Lane Thomas homered for the third straight game- he homered in every game of this series- and Jacob Young added two hits and a home run- his first MLB homer that broke a 1-1 tie- for the Nats, who had nine hits.
Miami ace Jesus Luzardo went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits. The Nats beat up the Marlins all weekend, outscoring them 15-2.
The Marlins went 1-5 on this road trip vs. their NL East rivals the Mets and Nationals, have lost ten of their last twelve games.
They head home now, for a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals starting tomorrow night at Loan Depot Park. Braxton Garrett (2-2) will start for Miami against St. Louis' Sonny Gray, 8-4. The Marlins are at +135, the Cards are -155. -
Locked On Marlins POSTCAST: ('LIVE') J.D. Martinez, Mets Walk it off vs Marlins 3-2 in Series Finale
J.D. Martinez smashed a two-run home run off Tanner Scott in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Mets a 3-2 win, and the Marlins another gut-wrenching loss in a season that has been full of them.
Martinez's HR- his first career walk-off- drove in Francisco Lindor, who had walked and stolen second base, sending Mets fans into a frenzy in Queens. J.D. went 2-4 on a night when the Marlins held the Mets to just three hits.
The Mets' late-inning heroics wiped out a brilliant start by Marlins' Rookie Roddery Munoz, who pitched six brilliant innings of one-hit baseball. Munoz struck out five and walked only one in what was easily the best start of his best career.
But the Marlins' bullpen was shaky for the second straight game. Anthony Bender and Calvin Faucher pitched out of a bases-loaded jam with no outs in the seventh inning, allowing just one run.
Jake Burger and Jazz Chisholm hit solo home runs for the Marlins, and Tim Anderson had his second two-hit game in this series.
