What are the latest news and theories about the Delphi murders?  On today's show, Juras and Glenn review the events since James Chadwell Jr.'s arrest for kidnapping and attempted murder for an unrelated case, and discuss his probable legal defensive strategy.  We then turn to new and revised theories we have encountered, and how our own opinions over the murder investigation of victims Libby German and Abby Williams have morphed since the last time we discussed this case.  This disturbing double murder in Delphi, Indiana shows no sign of being solved, despite a video recording, sound recording, and potential DNA evidence.  What will make this a solvable mystery?

The Disappearance of Mekayla Bali #110

Mekayla ditches school and then is captured on security cameras all over the town, she seems to be making phone calls, but with who?

    #Missing #CCVideo #Disappeared

What happened to missing 16 year-old Canadian teen Mekayla Bali, who disappeared from the town Yorkton in Saskatchewan on April 12, 2016?  While her behavior was somewhat mysterious in the days leading up to the disappearance, Mekayla had a reputation as being responsible and consistent, and did not seem to make any preparations for a long-term trip or disappearance.  Most spookily of all, much of her activity that day was caught on multiple surveillance cameras around town, yet she still disappeared without a trace, and remains missing to this day.

On today's episode, Juras and Glenn consider the evidence, video, footage, and review Mekayla Bali's actions to see what the evidence is for her possibly meeting an online predator and being abducted or otherwise harmed by this person, vs. her possibly deciding to disappear voluntarily.

    Chapters:

17:00 Timeline of the day Mekayla disappeared
20:00 Mekayla arrives at Sacred Heart high school, and then leaves

    Ken McElroy #109

    Ken McElroy #109

This small town has a dark secret, the locals kept their mouths shut for decades. We examine the events that took place back in 1981...

    #InstantKarma #TrueCrime #Justice

Who was Ken McElroy, and what caused unidentified assassins to murder him in the tiny town of Skidmore, Missouri, on July 10th, 1981?  Ken McElroy is alleged to have lived a life of crime and intimidation, becoming a one-man organized crime plague on the Skidmore area of Missouri, victimizing many residents there.  After threatening, assaulting, and even trying to kill several residents, and with no support or satisfaction from law enforcement and the legal system, the townspeople had enough.  They formed a crowd to expel Ken McElroy from Skidmore, and in the process, he was ambushed and killed by at least two shooters.

On today's episode, Juras and Glenn examine this outrageous, baffling, and often maddening case and explore how it was that a bully like Ken McElroy could have gone so long without consequence, as well as discuss whether Ken was looking for something to happen, given how long he persisted and escalated his violence and threats, to the point that it no longer helped his criminal goals, but worked against him.

The Disappearance of Susan Swedell #108

The Disappearance of Susan Swedell #108

Strange events take place in the Swedell home, just one week after Susan vanished. it seems like someone left a couple of clues, but why...

What happened to Susan Swedell, and was she murdered by the tall, strong young man whose car she got into at a service station in the middle of a blizzard on January 19, 1988, in Minnesota.  Susan was working two part time jobs, including one at Kmart, and had left Kmart wearing clothing more appropriate for a date in the Summer than for the cold weather outside.  She had what seemed like an unusually busy social life, with complaints about the many daily personal calls she was receiving at work from people she had met, some presumably as a result of her activity on pay-per-minute chat lines.  After parking her overheating car at a service station, Susan got into the car of a young man in a leather jacket, and was never seen again by her family or friends.  She is now considered missing, and possibly murdered, by local law enforcement

On today's episode, Juras and Glenn examine this strange case and focus on some of the mysterious discrepancies in the facts and theories around Susan Swedell's disappearance.
