    The trends of migration of health workers specifically suggest a global marketplace

    Oftentimes, trained workers migrate from poorer to richer countries due to differences in wages, training opportunities, and working conditions.


    Can cause gaps in global health care services, and further contribute to the disparities between global north and south.

    There may be as many as 4.3 million too few health care workers throughout the world, according to estimates from WHO.

    In many parts of the world, the shortage of healthcare workers — including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians and mental health workers — often prevents patients from receiving appropriate care and treatment.
