    Give Us A King

    Give Us A King

Sermon by Joshua Suh, Senior Pastor, from 1 Samuel 8:4-9 & 2 Corinthians 4:16-5:1. In the Old Testament, God used men to execute the offices of the Prophet, Priest, and King. However, the men that held these positions could not exercise them perfectly, nor could they bring perfect peace or salvation to the people. However, Jesus Christ resurrected and ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and he perfectly executes the three-fold office of Prophet, Priest, and King on our behalf. We are reminded through today's scripture that our hope and trust should not be in any earthly king or leader, but only in Christ.

Make Them Known to Your Children

Make Them Known to Your Children

Sermon by Kenny Foster, Associate Pastor, from Deuteronomy 4:9-14 & I John 2:12-14. This Sunday is Next Gen Sunday. During this time we seek to communicate to our young people their value, the value of the gospel and the practice of that value. What this sermon will show is that we are not to live for ourselves but for the generations that are coming up behind us. How? By following the command of the covenant. The command of the covenant is always related to the action that God takes within the covenant to deliver us from bondage and death. Each generation is to know what God has done. The way they know it is that the previous generation was to make it known. They make it known, not through just talk, but through their actions. Actions that are predicated on the saving action that God had taken. This passing on of the truth of God's salvation is a stabilizing presentation of the desire of God to dwell with the humanity. In a world of shifting foundations of ideas, identities, politics, and religions, the covenant we have with God through Jesus Christ is a sure foundation that is unchanging and leaves us in the land (earth) when all others are swept away.

    Filled With the Holy Spirit

    Filled With the Holy Spirit

Sermon by Joshua Suh, Senior Pastor, from Ezekiel 37:1-10 & Acts 2:1-13. This Sunday marks Pentecost Sunday where we are reminded of the fulfillment of Christ’s words to his disciples before his ascension that they would receive His Holy Spirit. As believers, it is through the power the Holy Spirit that we have been given new life. As God showed Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones, we have been given his breath that we might rise and live. God has given us the gift of His Spirit so that we may proclaim his salvation to every nation and tongue, and bring glory to His great name.

    Sanctify Them In The Truth

    Sanctify Them In The Truth

Sermon by Kenny Foster, Associate Pastor, from Psalm 1 & John 17:6-19. Sanctification is something everyone who follows Christ is expected to pursue. But is it merely for individualistic fulfillment? Or, does it have a broader communal aim as well? And if so, then how does sanctification affect racial harmony? Jesus' prayer for his people in John 17 gives us a broad understanding of sanctification when Jesus prays, "Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth." The Christian family is dependent on the sanctifying truth of God's word to empower us to maintain the unity we've been given for the glory of God. Christ prays for our sanctification so that we may be one as he and the Father are one. then he sanctifies himself so that we may be sanctified. What does this mean? Our unity is not incidental to our sanctification, it is at the heart of it.

The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation

The Lord Has Made Known His Salvation

Sermon by Joshua Suh, Senior Pastor, from Acts 4:5-12 & 1 John 3:16-24. As we celebrate our AAPI brothers and sisters, we also rejoice in the unity that we have through Jesus Christ. Although some might like to think that the unity we seek is simply a response from a “woke” generation and culture, this has been God’s message to all of his people through all ages. Let us rejoice that God has revealed his salvation clearly to all the nations and be amazed!
