Trigger Warning: This episode contains real life stories of abuse (physical, mental, and emotional).
In this episode Nurse John goes back to your favourite 1 on 1 conversation with him. We are bringing real life stories from everyone since nursing week/month is coming we are bringing up what really do need a spotlight which is not the work we do, as we already love it but the abuse and suffering we go through in a day to day that above our pay grade, less than human and is hidden behind the curtain of the “superheroes” everyone deemed us to be. Sit back, deep breaths, get caffeinated and let’s talk about reality.

Letting it out
I've been a nurse for 10 years now. Before when I first started nursing, clearly it wasnt something acceptable for my family but I worked my way thru. Atleast I managed to take care of my late mom when she was admitted in the hospital. Somehow it was difficult to show my family that nursing is what I love and what I can really make out of it. I worked hard. I first started in OB/Gynae unit which I really enjoyed and then I shifted to medical/rehabilitation unit which was a total 360 degree. Throughout the years, I learned a lot. But yes like you said it before, a small appreciation means a lot. And for me even my family doesnt accept me as a nurse it doesnt matter as long as I love my job and my patients appreciates me. One of my sweetest memories was when I was admitted in my own unit for bacterimia and the patients that I took care came to visit me, the doctors who I worked with came everyday asking me how I'm doing and my workmates is there for me taking care of me. There is no words to describe that feeling. Felt like I made something right. Well I know I did the right choice. So to anyone out there, follow your heart.

I reallyyy love your stories , yeah as a nurse im sure some of us look like okay ,happy and what so ever but actually we are actually burn out . There is one time , i hope that I might get an accident, with ACL tear or fracture, so that i can get my MC for a quite longgg time , because i really need it because i cried for myself everyday after finish my shift, and always taking a long shower before work to make sure that i am ok . So at the end of the day , i can feel that i am so done , depressed and i resign from my job . And until now i am so happy with my decision - orthopaedic nurse
