    Vrooming in corporate Sales



    * Pre 2000, Gregg was making great money in corporate sale in the telcom business. He sales region include California and Hawaii

    * Then around 2000 the telcom bubble burst, telcoms stopped buying infrastructure and Gregg was out of a job.

    * His veer awakening unfolded over the next five years following being "downsized" from his job.

    * He and his fiancé decided to "downsize" their lifestyle which included moving from California to Bend, Oregon.

    * Gregg then vroomed back into corporate telcom sales living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area of California

    * That vroom lasted about three years and Gregg was downsized again



    Veer into Coaching



    * Gregg started working with the idea of turning his "passion" into a business

    * The problem was that he had multiple passions and he had to figure out which passion he authentically enjoyed sharing with others

    * Most of his passions he were just for him...he enjoy doing them, but not sharing them.

    * His big A-HA moment was when he discovered that he really enjoyed coaching people.



    Almost Veered off a mountain



    * Gregg tells the story of surviving an avalanche during a mountain climbing trip.

    * He described a new sort of inner peace and gratitude for being alive.

    * This inner peace helped Gregg see that so much of the little things in life that hold us back just don't matter.

    * We discuss building structures in our life to help us cultivate this inner peace.

    Vrooming with Corporate IT Support job



    * Installing windows, working trouble tickets...not really good at it.

    * His boss told him that he wasn't very good at IT

    * Switched to working a sales support role in IT...which Mike really liked.

    * Tried his hand at programming...didn't like it.

    * He found out he was more creative, working with people and selling...also great at getting jobs.



    Veer for Y2K



    * Tons of IT jobs supporting Y2K.

    * Got into web application development a little.



    Martial Arts School Veer



    * His friend who owned a Martial Arts School started asking him "business" questions...even though he didn't have a clue.

    * He started working with his friend as an adviser.

    * One day, his buddy gave him a Dan Kennedy a marketing tape (cassette tape).



    Grandfather has a heart attack at Mike's Wedding



    * Grand mom moves in while grandpa is in recovery

    * His 12 year-old cousin died of congenital heart disease.

    * Totally rocked Mike's world.



    Mike was in the Air Force, but was never in the Air Force



    * He graduated high school barely, by the skin of a "D".

    * He dropped out of community college.

    * He joins the Air Force as an Administrative Specialist and is waiting to depart for basic training in the delayed enlisted program.

    * Before he can leave for basic, he is in a serious motorcycle accident.

    * His recruiter does the wrong thing and tells Mike to report to basic training without telling anyone about his accident.

    * Mike was in too much pain to complete basic training, so he left and never went back.

    * Grew up in Ohio; born and raised in an Italian restaurant; starting working when he was 9 years old; was running the show by the time he was 16* Grandmother said she would pay for him to attend culinary school; his dad suggested he should join the Navy* Spent 11 years in the navy working in IT job on subs; learned a lot about high performance teams and how to do other people's jobs* Realized he was away from his kids nearly a whole year and that was not going to change i the Navy; so he got out and started doing nearly the same job as a contractor but for more money* Went to Saudi Arabia twice; got dysentery the first time; lost 25 pounds in two weeks; had passport issues while trying to leave the second time * Worked with the Air Force on their logistics software turning the 2nd Gulf war* Lived with his family near Frankfurt in Germany for 3 years; got to drive a BMW on the autobahn at 140 MPH; he was still passed by people going 200+ MPH
