happy (b word) ain't hating and hating (b word) ain't happy! that's what they say at least. I on the other hand am very happy to report that I have my first ever reddit hate thread about myself. I wander into this episode without a clear plan, somehow we get from ranking the different dover street markets to new york museums to my new the row shoes to climbing cringe mountain to reddit. I'm reporting live from new york, where i plan to spend a lot more of my time, and am sending love to wherever you are.

you accept the rates you think you deserve. in this episode I (try to) explain the close link between how you view yourself, how potential clients view you and how as a freelancer, you have to stand up for yourself. within the same day I will hear from one brand that I am worth nothing more than gifting, while another wants me in their campaign. letting outside fators dictate about how you feel about yourself can lead you to a downward spiral. did you know that self worth, image, knowledge, confidence, awareness are all different things and often don't work together? it took me years to figure that out, and that the road to self love isn't linear. in an industry of hot air, you can't act as your own air conditioner.

how overpacking for a trip makes me shop less. I cant remember my life BPC (before packing cubes) and honestly, I dont want to either. this episode is a little jet-lag ramble straight off the plane from tokyo, I talk about budgeting and how my priorites with travel and money have changed over the years, and wonder why we are obsessed with juding people we don't know about how they choose to spend their coins. I have entered my AGTBS (always get the business seat) life, and not sure if I can ever give that up. sue me!!!

    002 everybody wants this

    002 everybody wants this

"oh don't be ridiculous, andrea. everybody wants this! everybody wants to be us." what does one even do at fashion week? I am trying to break it down for you, as someone who is still figuring out what she’s even doing at fashion week. this is post fashion month fog brain meets post fashion month clarity, there’s levels to this sh*t! from the margiela couture show to getting fashion sea sick, and why I’ll do it all over again in three months. fashion week can leave you with a god complex ego or spit you out feeling like you're worthless, no matter at what stage of your career journey you are. it's important to know yourself, your worth, to be less affected by what the industry's decision makers or gatekeepers project onto you. I learned that the hard way! once I stopped caring and focused on myself and my community, things started working out for me.

you know in a tv series when a new episode starts but before that they kind of recap what happened in the last one in ten seconds? and you’d skip it ofc because you knew exactly what just happened, as you’ve been binge watching the series for the last six hours. anyways, this is kind of like that, except I hope you won’t skip this. my year in review. in april. welcome to brendawareness!
