Edmund & Morgan share insights on the impacts of recreational marijuana use on teens. With guests Alison and Margot from Lyme Youth Service Bureau, we’ll discuss risks and prevention methods in our communities! The teen and early adult years are when our children are most vulnerable to marijuana’s harmful effects. It can affect how their brains develop, grades, relationships and physical health. Risk for addiction increases too. Although people tend to overlook the negative side effects of marijuana for recreation, it still can pose a dangerous problem, especially towards the youth. NFA’s Prevention Council take on different public health issue in the community, from the perspective of students! In this episode, Avery and Makayla look at impacts of Rx drugs (i.e.: opiates, painkillers, etc), impacting students and community members. Officer Calouro works for the Norwich Police Dept - Community Police Unit and brings a ton of experience of this issue!
