    Night by Elie Wiesel

    Night by Elie Wiesel

Based in Europe 1940’s, Night is narrated by Eliezer, a Jewish teenager who, when the memoir begins, lives in his hometown of Sighet, in Hungarian Transylvania. Eliezer is very religious; he practiced Judaism his entire life. The story recalls him experiencing the horrors of living through this horrible period of time during the Second World War. Eliezer talks about the living conditions in a couple of different concentration camps like Birkenau, and Buna. His family was separated by gender, leaving him and his father to live amongst other Jewish men that had also been brutally stripped of their lives, and their faith just like Eliezer and his father.
