The Common Denominator: Episode #13 Iranians vs the Islamic Regime with Golsa Golestaneh

“The Common Denominator”Episode #13 Iranians vs the Islamic Regime with Golsa GolestanehIn this episode Ilana Rachel Daniel welcomes Golsa Golestaneh.Golsa is an Iranian-Canadian passionate about challenging misinformation and propaganda. We dive into what life was like for her family who opposed the Islamic Regime, her own arrest by the morality police at age 14, and while living in Canada today, how she was accused of Islamophobia for calling out Radical Islam. Golsa speaks on why she believes Israel is the only country who recognizes the immediate and existential threat the Islamic Republic of Iran poses to the Iranian people, to the Israeli people, and to all of civilization.“While women are beaten in the streets of Iran and middle and upper class kids who have never met with a moments adversity rage against a machine they cannot point to on a map, never has the noise been more deafening or appalling or absurd.”https://x.com/exhaustedgolsa

The Common Denominator: Episode #12 Iran Attacks

The Common Denominator: Episode #12 Iran Attacks

On April 14th 2024, Iran did what no one thought they would; launch an unprecedented attack upon sovereign Israel’s soil.

“As for Israel, it has quite literally no choice but to respond to the Iranian regime's attack. And of the unending “impossible choices'' we, the people of Israel face and have enumerated here week after week - this would be the mother of them all.
Their purpose is to terrorize us, to make our lives so terrifying and unlivable that we abandon our ancestral land, the place of our hope and our refuge. But they believe their own lies and misjudge who we are to their own downfall.
Israel has no choice - we are a nation of refugees and we have nowhere else to go - we will fight with all we have for we do not defend a philosophical idea in a faraway country - we defend our precious children, homes and land and we have no illusions about for what we fight and why we must.”

The Common Denominator: Episode #11 Iran's War on the West with David May of the FDD

The Common Denominator: Episode #11 Iran's War on the West with David May of the FDD

The Islamic Republic of Iran has defined itself by waging a relentless and cynical war of terror against the United States, Israel and democracy as a whole for 45 years. In doing so, the IRGC attempts to legitimize its rule over an Iranian population who by far and large do not support the Islamic Theocracy.
In this episode Ilana Rachel Daniel and our guest, David May, senior analyst at The Foundation for Defense of Democracies, shine a light one of the most repressive regimes in the world, its failures, and its un-holy quest for regional dominance.
"We have since passed the 48 hour high alert period issued over the weekend where the CIA warned Israel of Iran’s potentially imminent attack.
Again what makes these warnings especially newsworthy is that Iran would itself attack from its own soil and not utilize one of its mercenary proxies sitting in at least five countries officially across the Middle East and many other locations in progress which Iran has been sending to terrorize our small country."

The Common Denominator: Epsiode #10 Pallywood & Lethal Journalism with Professor Richard Landes

The Common Denominator: Epsiode #10 Pallywood & Lethal Journalism with Professor Richard Landes

Professor Richard Landes book, “Can the Whole World be Wrong?” documents the inability of Westerners to understand the medieval mentality that drives Global Jihad. That misunderstanding has prompted a series of disastrous misinterpretations and misguided reactions that have contributed fundamentally to the ever-worsening moral and empirical disorientations of the mainstream media.
The press reports Palestinian and Jihadi war propaganda as if official news which fuels distrust and deepens splits within their own western countries  - weakening the ability of democracies to defend themselves.
The book cites the example of former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan, who rejected Israel’s denial that it committed a massacre at Jenin in 2002; “I don't think the whole world, including the friends of the Israeli people and government, can be wrong,” said Annan.
Landes answer, however, is a resounding; “Yes.”

The Common Denominator: Episode #9 We The People

The Common Denominator: Episode #9 We The People

The Middle East and North Africa - MENA - is defined as the most autocratic region in the world. Yet Israel, has acted as an oasis of democracy in a desert of repression all while struggling to maintain its security and internal progress.
In this program, Ilana Rachel Daniel returns to the pillars of our western democracies, what were the shared values that rooted them and why we see their erosion and rise of authoritarianism today.

“Our throw away culture imagines there is always something better on the pipeline. We buy the next upgrade, we block those with whom we disagree and we toss our single serving receptacle to the bin many times a day.
But, if we abandon the constructs of democracy now in this era of micro-managed minds and a device in each of our 8 billion hands, there is no better model in production.”

The Common Denominator: Episode #8 Urban Warfare: A Soldier's Testimony from Gaza

The Common Denominator: Episode #8 Urban Warfare: A Soldier's Testimony from Gaza

There is no country nor army more vilified than is Israel’s.
Our experience has been one of inversion, where that which happens to Israel’s people collectively is robbed from them in broad daylight and claimed by her enemies as their own.
But there are facts. There is evidence and documentation, policy and witness, and they stand in stark contrast to the propaganda manufactured.
    Here is one solider’s account.
“Urban warfare, however, both in general and in the layout of battle inside Gaza specifically, present difficulties and multi-layered dangers that are entirely new, not only to those listening, but for the IDF who meets inside Gaza challenges which no army has faced before, ever.”
