REPLAY: There's Power in Peace w/Lysa Terkeurst (Enneagram 9)

In today's replay of one of Ian's favorite episodes, we take a look at the adaptable, caring, "go with the flow" nature of Enneagram 9s. To keep the peace, Nines can over-accommodate in an unconscious effort to avoid conflict and "fall asleep" to their own needs.

Our guest, Lysa Terkeurst, #1 New York Times bestselling author and Enneagram 9, explains why it's important for The Peacemaker not to confuse the desire for peace with the disease to please and to recognize the delight of being yourself.

How the Enneagram Impacts Tori Kelly and André Murillo

How the Enneagram Impacts Tori Kelly and André Murillo

We're kicking off season 4 with a great episode! Today, Enneagram Four pop star Tori Kelly and former professional basketball player André Murillo join me to talk about how the Enneagram has impacted their relationship.  Right out of the gate the conversation goes deep into how the Enneagram fosters a better understanding of the needs of their friends and family, encourages them to respect each other’s strengths, and helps them navigate the different ways they each approach emotions.
Tori Kelly is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer who first gained recognition after posting videos on YouTube as a teenager, and appeared as a semi-finalist on the ninth season of American Idol in 2010. Thereafter, she independently released her self-produced debut EP in 2012, Handmade Songs by Tori Kelly.
Since making her debut with 2015’s Unbreakable Smile, a widely acclaimed album that entered the Billboard 200 at No. 2, Tori has lit up the pop landscape with her breathtaking vocals and full-hearted songwriting.  Over the past year, she’s continued to captivate with her sophomore effort Hiding Place: a passion project whose R&B-tinged take on classic gospel won Best Gospel Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards.  And though Hiding Place marks a stylistic departure from Kelly’s work in the pop world, each song shows the steadfast commitment to uncompromising artistry that carries through her music.
Her husband, André Murillo is a former German-American professional basketball player who was raised in Lake Forest, California. He started his basketball career at Hamburg Towers in the German Pro A Basketball League then played for the Sea View League MVP. He currently has a passion for writing and sharing his personal life experiences.
