Rend the heart.  Promise of the Holy Spirit.  Enemies of the church.  God's mercies on the church.

The Lord's love for Israel.  Ephraim and Judah reproved.  A plea for Israel to return unto the Lord.

Idolatry of Israel.  Israel's unthankfulness.  God's promise of mercy.

God said to Hosea to take a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms.  Hosea's wife Gomer bare Jezreel, Loruhamah, and Loammi.  She went after other lovers.  Hosea redeemed his wife.  God's exhortation to repentance.

Paul's dangerous sailing voyage.  Their ship encountered a storm and became a shipwreck.  Paul encountered barbarians on the island of Melita.  He continued towards and arrived in Rome.
