Dennis Prager and Julie Hartman explore all aspects of life, in particular the crisis of American education. Julie was a student senior at Harvard who sensed that most of her life she was exposed to one perspective. She found Dennis Prager’s book “Still the Best Hope,” and she realized she actually held many conservative beliefs. She reached out to Dennis and that was the beginning of a new partnership that culminates in their weekly podcast.

    Un-Presidented Trump “The Felon”

    Un-Presidented Trump “The Felon”

Dennis and Julie react to the Trump conviction.  Evil isn’t dark… it’s so bright that people don’t want to face it.  We are in a battle …civilizational versus anti-civilizational.  If you have a clear mind the Trump trial makes no sense to you.  In his book Liberal Fascism, Jonah Goldberg brilliantly traces the intellectual roots of fascism to their surprising source.  Dennis says Judge Juan Merchan could have been one of Stalin’s judges.  The toughest question you can ask a Leftist in your family is… what were the 34 crimes Trump was convicted of?  We are in the age of inversion… who’s the real threat to Democracy?  Isaiah 5:20 - Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.  Dennis says there’s no hope for people who lie and believe their lies.  Do Leftist believe their lies? They discuss Israel versus Hamas… and Ayaan Hirsi Ali.  We are the beneficiaries of western civilization …we are obligated to protect it.  Music: Straight to the Point c 2022Richard Friedman Music Publishing 100%Richard Friedman Writers 100%ASCAP (PRO)IPI128741568RichardFriedmanMusic.com

    Seek Joy

    Seek Joy

Dennis and Julie discuss joy and performance… passion is infectious.  Dennis recalls fondly his father, Max Prager’s lessons and examples in life.  Not achieving your God given potential will cause bitterness. If you are stuck in a situation… find a way to celebrate it.  The most powerful thing you can give a person is a good example.  Finding joy in life requires effort and enthusiasm matters.  They reflect on Jordan Peterson living in the public eye. The importance of being a good model and passing on values.  Being a good role model isn’t enough however, it also requires spoken word.  Conversely a negative role model can be equally effective… and devastating.  Is the influence of a bad role model more powerful than the influence of a good role model?    Music: Straight to the Point c 2022Richard Friedman Music Publishing 100%Richard Friedman Writers 100%ASCAP (PRO)IPI128741568RichardFriedmanMusic.com

    Wisdom

    Wisdom

Dennis and Julie discuss the differences of working with women and men.  You should have close same sex friends… if you don’t, that is odd.  Very close opposite sex friendships rarely work.  Can you learn from someone else’s mistake… or must you experience the issue to understand? Beware of people who are too close to their parents, and conversely parents who are too close to their children.  D+J discuss three reasons parents attend their children’s games… are they healthy reasons?  The limits, boundaries, separations, and distinctions of appropriateness have been blurred in today’s society.  For the credit of being a good or bad person… you are not solely a product of your parents.  Reason without God leads to chaos.Music: Straight to the Point c 2022Richard Friedman Music Publishing 100%Richard Friedman Writers 100%ASCAP (PRO)IPI128741568RichardFriedmanMusic.com

    The Age of Inversion

    The Age of Inversion

Dennis and Julie examine having fun… male fun versus female fun; donkey versus monkey; language, pronunciation, and accents; Johnny Carson; Harrison Butker’s commencement speech; and Clarence Thomas.  The political is everywhere in society… there are no boundaries.  Leviticus 19 - “The Lord said to Moses, Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: ‘Be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.”  Chaos is the natural state of the world… civilization provides order, and we are moving backwards.  Bangladesh became the first country to grant its rivers the same legal status as humans.  A survivor of Chairman Mao's Cultural Revolution said she has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder since watching 'Marxist hordes' overrun US college campuses. How are parents reacting to, or handling, the “wokeness” in their kids?  Everything is upside down… those who accuse racism are racist… those who claim to protect trans kids are hurting them... those who claim tolerance are intolerant.  Are people brainwashed or mentally ill?  We are in an era of incompatible views… is the gap unbridgeable?Music: Straight to the Point c 2022Richard Friedman Music Publishing 100%Richard Friedman Writers 100%ASCAP (PRO)IPI128741568RichardFriedmanMusic.com

    All or Nothing

    All or Nothing

Dennis and Julie reflect on complimenting each other, when and how to take criticism, and avoiding “always” and “never.”  Today’s culture lacks nuance… very few positions in life are binary.  Bad ideas prevail because the vast majority of non-evil people are weak. Other topics include: the missing tile syndrome; the Israel protests; BLM; proper grammar; TDS; micro versus macro values; private versus public speech; Talmud wisdom - a bashful person cannot learn; aphorisms; The Book of Virtues – Bill Bennett’s book https://amzn.to/3WwyxKj; and the poem If by Rudyard KiplingMusic: Straight to the Point c 2022Richard Friedman Music Publishing 100%Richard Friedman Writers 100%ASCAP (PRO)IPI128741568RichardFriedmanMusic.com

    Ruined U

    Ruined U

Dennis and Julie start with the anti-Israel protests at Columbia University.  The damage that university professors have done to the country over the last eighty years is incalculable.  When moral confusion is accepted in one category it spreads to other categories.  Parents… what makes you think your child won’t be affected by this if you send your children to university?  Dennis reflects on his trip to South Africa.  They discuss Jewry in the United States versus Jewry around the world.  People become cynical because they started out naïve.  Learning how to say “thank you” in as many languages possible has served Dennis well.  It is a beautiful thing that there are many cultures in the world… it is not a beautiful thing that there are many moralities in the world.  Julie shares her experience on the subway in NYC.Music: Straight to the Point c 2022Richard Friedman Music Publishing 100%Richard Friedman Writers 100%ASCAP (PRO)IPI128741568RichardFriedmanMusic.com
